Frequently Asked Questions
-
The Georgia Club is west of Athens in Statham, with convenient access to Highway 316, also called University Parkway, via Craft Road. Downtown Athens and much of the University of Georgia campus are approximately 20–25 minutes away in light traffic, depending on your starting point within the community and your destination.
For UGA and Sanford Stadium, you can take Highway 316 east to the Athens Loop (Loop 10), then use College Station Road and East Campus Road to reach campus. Your best route will depend on the building or parking area you’re visiting.
For downtown Athens, one option is Highway 316 east to Loop 10, then Oconee Street, which becomes Broad Street as you approach downtown. That brings you near UGA’s historic North Campus and the restaurants, shops and music venues in the heart of Athens.
Five Points and Normaltown are also roughly 20–25 minutes away in light traffic, making dinner with friends or an afternoon in Athens an easy outing.
Allow extra time during rush hours, UGA football weekends and major campus events. On game days, remember to account for parking and walking to the stadium in addition to the drive. -
The Georgia Club is approximately 15–20 minutes from Athens and the University of Georgia, depending on your destination and traffic. This makes it especially appealing for those who want easy access to UGA, downtown Athens, restaurants, shopping and events while enjoying a quieter community setting.

One of the things I love about The Georgia Club is that the homes don’t all look alike, yet they feel like they belong together. Southern architecture, welcoming porches, beautiful streetscapes and views of golf fairways, parks, lakes and cobblestone streets give the community its character. There’s plenty of variety, and plenty of lovely places to sit outside and enjoy it.
Home construction began in 2004, and new homes are still being built today. You’ll find courtyard homes, boulevard homes, custom residences and estate properties throughout the community. When it comes to caring for the grounds, though, there are two main categories: Estate Homes and “Lock and Leave” homes.
Estate Homes can be found in several neighborhoods and generally sit on larger lots, ranging from approximately half an acre to more than an acre. Homeowners are responsible for maintaining their grounds, giving them more flexibility to make those outdoor spaces their own.
“Lock and Leave” is our affectionate name for homes where routine lawn care is handled for you through a required quarterly lawn-care assessment. The service includes weekly mowing, edging and blowing, along with seasonal pine straw, lawn treatments and trimming. It makes heading out of town a little easier, or simply frees up your time to enjoy life here!
And “Lock and Leave” doesn’t mean small. Homes in this category range from approximately 2,300 to more than 6,500 square feet. The distinction is about lawn maintenance, not the size of the home.
The lawn-care assessment is separate from HOA dues and varies by neighborhood based on lot size and other considerations. Rates are updated annually. Contact us with the neighborhood you’re interested in, and we’ll be happy to send you the current quarterly lawn-care charge.
Visit our Neighborhoods section to get a feel for each neighborhood and see the homes currently listed for sale there, based on information from Georgia MLS. You can explore the different home styles and settings, then see what’s available in the neighborhoods that catch your eye.

Yes! If you’re not already represented by another agent, Sarah can help you explore available homes throughout The Georgia Club, including properties listed by other brokerages. She is also often aware of homes that aren’t publicly advertised and, with the seller’s permission, can share those opportunities.
Sarah also welcomes inquiries about her own listings from both unrepresented buyers and buyers working with an agent. If you already have an agent, please have them contact Sarah to coordinate a showing of one of her listings.
Having lived in The Georgia Club since 2008, Sarah knows the community well. She can help you get to know the different neighborhoods, home styles and locations, and answer questions you might not find covered in an online listing.
Sarah lives in the Oconee Springs neighborhood, so she or her daughter, Ellie, can often accommodate showings on short notice. Just reach out, and they’ll be happy to help coordinate a time.

Yes. The Georgia Club is home to 27 holes of championship golf, along with practice facilities and a private club experience. Golf is an important part of the community, but you certainly don't have to be a golfer to appreciate living here. Residents can also enjoy dining, tennis, pickleball, swimming, fitness, social events and other amenities.
